Jewellery that holds memories also holds lasting value.
At Kiddy Karat, we create jewellery to be loved through childhood and treasured for years. We also understand that gold jewellery represents value beyond the moment it is purchased.
Our buyback option is designed to give eligible customers the flexibility to use the gold value of their Kiddy Karat jewellery towards another piece in the future, subject to the terms below.
01. Buyback Eligibility
Eligible Kiddy Karat gold jewellery may be considered for buyback after 12 months from the date of purchase.
The buyback option is available only to the original purchaser and is subject to verification and quality approval.
At the time of requesting a buyback, you will need to provide:
- Original purchase invoice
- Kiddy Karat authenticity / certification documents
- Original jewellery packaging
- Any other information requested by our team for verification
The jewellery must correspond with the original purchase records.
02. What Is Considered for Buyback
The buyback value is calculated primarily on the net gold weight of the jewellery, as recorded in the applicable Kiddy Karat documentation and verified during our quality assessment.
The applicable gold rate will be based on Kiddy Karat's daily gold rate on the date the buyback is approved, subject to our applicable valuation terms.
The following are not included in the gold buyback value:
- Making charges
- GST paid at the time of purchase
- Enamel or other decorative elements
- Packaging charges
- Other non-gold components
The final buyback value will be communicated after evaluation and approval.
The buyback value of lab-grown diamonds would be 80% of the current lab-grown diamond price.
03. Discounts & Promotional Benefits
If a discount, promotional benefit, complimentary item or other offer was provided as part of the original purchase, Kiddy Karat may adjust the applicable value while calculating the final buyback or exchange benefit.
Any such adjustment will be communicated to the customer before the buyback is finalised.
04. Buyback as Credit
Approved buyback value will generally be provided as a Kiddy Karat credit note rather than a cash refund.
The credit note may be used towards the purchase of another eligible Kiddy Karat jewellery piece, subject to the applicable terms.
If the new jewellery has a higher value than the available credit, the difference will need to be paid by the customer before the new order is confirmed.
The credit note:
- Is valid for 1 year from the date of issue
- Is intended for use against a Kiddy Karat purchase
- Cannot be exchanged for cash
- Is non-transferable unless otherwise approved by Kiddy Karat
05. Customised & Personalised Jewellery
Customised and personalised jewellery may also be considered for buyback, subject to the same eligibility, verification and quality requirements.
For such pieces, the buyback benefit is based on the eligible net gold value, rather than the original price paid for the customised creation.
The eligible value may be used towards a new ready-to-ship Kiddy Karat piece or, where feasible, a new customised creation.
Customisation, making charges, stones and other non-gold costs from the original purchase are not carried forward as gold value.
06. Condition of Jewellery
Because every piece must be properly assessed before a buyback is approved, the jewellery will undergo a quality and authenticity check.
Buyback may not be accepted where the jewellery:
- Has been significantly damaged or irreversibly broken
- Has missing or altered components affecting identification or valuation
- Has been repaired or modified by another jeweller
- Has been resized or altered without Kiddy Karat's approval
- Cannot be authenticated or matched with the original purchase records
- Is missing required certification or documentation
- Shows signs of tampering or unauthorised modification
Minor signs of normal wear may not automatically disqualify a piece, but the final decision will depend on our physical assessment.
07. Shipping & Handling
Once your preliminary buyback request has been reviewed and approved for further evaluation, we will provide instructions for sending the jewellery to us.
Applicable shipping and insurance charges for the buyback process will be borne by the customer, i.e. ₹900, unless otherwise confirmed by Kiddy Karat.
If the jewellery does not qualify for buyback after physical inspection, return shipping charges may also be payable by the customer.
We recommend using only the shipping method advised by our team when sending valuable jewellery.
08. How the Buyback Process Works
Step 1 — Get in touch
Contact the Kiddy Karat team with your original order details.
Step 2 — Share photographs & documents
Send clear photographs / videos of the jewellery along with the applicable invoice and certificate.
Step 3 — Preliminary evaluation
Our team will review the information and confirm whether the piece can proceed for buyback assessment.
Step 4 — Physical verification
Once approved, the jewellery is sent to Kiddy Karat for physical inspection and quality verification.
Step 5 — Valuation
We verify the jewellery, determine the eligible net gold weight and calculate the applicable buyback value according to our prevailing gold rate and policy.
Step 6 — Credit issued
After final approval, the eligible value is issued as a Kiddy Karat credit note.
Step 7 — Choose your next piece
You can use the available credit towards an eligible Kiddy Karat jewellery purchase, with any applicable balance amount payable separately.
09. Important Things to Know
A buyback is not the same as a refund of the original purchase price.
The amount originally paid for the jewellery will include making charges, diamond / gemstone charges, GST, enamel, customisation and other costs. These components do not necessarily form part of the gold buyback value.
The final buyback amount is determined only after the jewellery has been evaluated and approved.
Kiddy Karat reserves the right to decline a buyback request if the jewellery does not meet the eligibility, authenticity, documentation or condition requirements of this policy.
