Where It All Began
I sometimes wonder if Kiddy Karat began when I started the brand — or much earlier, when I was just three years old.
I come from a family of jewellers with a legacy spanning over 40 years. Growing up around jewellery and craftsmanship, I learned early that the most precious pieces are often treasured not just for their value, but for the memories they hold.
When I turned three, my father gifted me a personalised gold bracelet with my name on it. At the time, I simply knew it was mine — and that it made me feel special.
I still have that bracelet today. Over the years, its emotional value has grown far beyond the gold itself.
It taught me something I've carried ever since: jewellery can preserve a feeling, hold a memory, and let one tiny piece of gold carry an entire childhood.
The Thought Behind Kiddy Karat
Years later, when I joined my family business, I began seeing children's jewellery differently. Families were looking for something special for their little ones, yet most options felt generic, overly traditional, or simply like smaller versions of adult jewellery.
I kept thinking about my childhood bracelet. What if there were a jewellery brand created entirely around children — not jewellery adapted for them, but jewellery designed around them?
That thought became Kiddy Karat.
As a gemologist and jewellery designer, I brought together my family's decades of expertise with my own understanding of what children's jewellery could be. Every piece begins with a story, inspired by the imagination, innocence, and milestones of childhood. Every detail is designed with little ones in mind — soft edges, lightweight design, hypoallergenic and nickel-free materials.
