These definitions help explain key terms used in our Shipping, Warranty, Buy-Back, Exchange, Return, Refund, Customisation, and Terms & Conditions policies.


Working Days

Working days refer to:

Monday to Saturday

Working hours:

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM IST

The following are not considered working days:

  • Sundays

  • Public holidays

  • Government-declared holidays

All timelines mentioned on our website are calculated using working days unless stated otherwise.


Ready-to-Ship Jewellery

Ready-to-ship jewellery refers to products that are already available in stock.

These products are typically dispatched shortly after:

  • Payment confirmation

  • Order verification

  • Serviceability check

Estimated delivery timeline:

3–7 business days after dispatch


Made-to-Order Jewellery

Made-to-order jewellery refers to products that are manufactured after an order is placed.

These products are not immediately available in stock and require production before shipping.

Estimated completion timeline:

15–20 working days


Customised Jewellery

Customised jewellery refers to products specially created or modified according to customer requirements.

Examples include:

  • Name engraving

  • Initials

  • Birth dates

  • Custom sizing

  • Design modifications

  • Special enamel colours

  • Custom diamond selections

Customised jewellery is manufactured only after customer approval and is generally not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.


Design Approval

Design approval refers to the customer's final written confirmation of a customised jewellery design.

Approval may be provided through:

  • WhatsApp

  • Email

Once approved:

  • Production begins

  • Cancellation may not be possible

  • Design changes may attract additional charges


Serviceability

Serviceability refers to whether a delivery location can be served by our courier and logistics partners.

After an order is placed:

  • The PIN code is verified.

  • Delivery availability is confirmed.

If a location is not serviceable:

  • The order may be cancelled.

  • A full refund will be issued.


Quality Check (QC)

Quality Check (QC) is the inspection process carried out by Kiddy Karat before approving:

  • Returns

  • Refunds

  • Exchanges

  • Buy-Back requests

  • Warranty claims

  • Repair requests

The inspection helps verify:

  • Product condition

  • Authenticity

  • Eligibility under the applicable policy


Buy-Back

Buy-back allows eligible customers to return jewellery to Kiddy Karat and receive a value based on our Buy-Back Policy.

Final valuation may depend on:

  • Product condition

  • Gold purity

  • Net gold weight

  • Applicable deductions

  • Current market value

All buy-back requests are subject to inspection and approval.


Exchange

Exchange allows eligible customers to replace an existing jewellery piece with another product from the Kiddy Karat collection.

This is especially useful when:

  • A child outgrows a jewellery piece

  • A different size is required

  • A different design is preferred

Exchange value is governed by our Lifetime Buy-Back & Exchange Policy.


Warranty

Warranty refers to Kiddy Karat's limited coverage against manufacturing defects.

Current warranty period:

6 Months from the date of purchase or delivery

Warranty coverage is limited to manufacturing-related issues and does not cover normal wear and tear or usage-related damage.


Manufacturing Defect

A manufacturing defect is a flaw that occurs during production and exists independently of customer use.

Examples may include:

  • Defective locks

  • Faulty clasps

  • Soldering issues

  • Structural defects

  • Manufacturing-related enamel defects

All claims are subject to inspection.


Return

A return is the process of sending a product back to Kiddy Karat under the conditions specified in the Return & Refund Policy.

Current return window:

3 Days from the date of delivery

Eligibility conditions apply.


Refund

A refund refers to the return of money paid for a product after approval of a valid cancellation or return request.

Refund timelines vary depending on:

  • Payment method

  • Quality Check approval

  • Banking processes

Refunds are generally issued to the original payment method used during purchase.


Reverse Pickup

Reverse pickup refers to the collection of a product from the customer's address for:

  • Returns

  • Buy-back requests

  • Exchanges

  • Warranty inspections

Availability depends on location and courier serviceability.


Lab-Grown Diamond

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created in a controlled laboratory environment.

They are:

  • Chemically identical to natural diamonds

  • Physically identical to natural diamonds

  • Graded using the same 4C standards:

    • Cut

    • Colour

    • Clarity

    • Carat


Hallmarked Gold

Hallmarked gold refers to gold that has been certified for purity by an authorised hallmarking authority.

Where applicable, Kiddy Karat jewellery is supplied with BIS Hallmark certification as per regulatory requirements.


Original Invoice

The original invoice is the purchase document issued by Kiddy Karat at the time of sale.

The invoice is required for:

  • Warranty claims

  • Returns

  • Exchanges

  • Buy-back requests

  • Customer support verification

Customers are advised to retain their invoice for future reference.


Policy Updates

Kiddy Karat may update its policies from time to time.

The latest version published on our website shall always apply.
